A Mixed Age Open House Playgroup

At the beginning and the end of each school year we open our doors so that you can experience A Montessori Nest through an open house mixed age playgroup. Each playgroup includes an immersive Montessori experience and a communal snack. It’s the perfect way to come and check us out!

FAQ’s

  • Great question! We mean from pregnancy through to preschool age. The playgroups are really a chance to see if you’d like to register for the Infant Circle or the Parent and Toddler Program. If you have children older than four but you are planning to homeschool them or they are at school only part time then they are still welcome. I can adjust the children’s curriculum to accommodate.

  • After you register you will receive an email with all the information you need to attend successfully. This includes the address, what to bring with and the playgroup rules we encourage. I also ask for any dietary restrictions and information on any other accommodations so that we can help you feel welcome and comfortable.

  • We start the playgroup by focusing on helping the children familiarise themselves with the space and the materials. I will be available to help each family settle in and we use that first hour to stay very attuned to and observant of the children. At ten, a communal snack is served for the children and the adults are encouraged to get a refreshment as well. For the time after snack you are welcome to spread further outside or inside and socialise with the other families.
